10 Benefits of Eco Enzyme for Agriculture and Health

Have you ever heard about eco enzyme? If not, in this article we will learn the meaning and benefits of eco enzyme , especially for health and agriculture. In general, eco enzymes are waste enzymes produced from fermented liquid organic waste.

The benefits of eco enzyme are so many, including: floor cleaners, plant fertilizers, and plant repellents. If processed properly, the benefits of eco enzyme will be maximized to reduce the pile of garbage around our environment

Where Do The Benefits Of Eco Enzyme Come From?

The content of the benefits of eco enzyme comes from the disinfectant properties produced during the organic waste fermentation process. This liquid has high levels of acetic acid or alcohol/ethanol from bacterial metabolism that is naturally present in rotting vegetables and fruits.

Converting organic waste into eco-enzyme is very important in reducing the amount of piles of waste in the TPA (Final Disposal Site). A study by Sustainable Waste Indonesia, shows that 60% of the total waste in Indonesia is organic waste (in 2018, CNN Indonesia).

However, only 7.5% of the waste was successfully processed. The rest, just burned, abandoned, and piled up just like that. As a result, landfills are increasingly overwhelmed to accommodate the mounting piles of garbage. In fact, it is predicted that the Bantar Gebang TPA will exceed its capacity in the next few years.

Benefits Of Eco Enzyme For The Household Sector

The benefits of eco enzyme for the household sector are as follows:

1. Clean the stove and oily kitchen area

Eco enzyme liquid can clean crusty, dirty, and oily kitchen areas. In fact, it can absorb odors so that the kitchen room is more hygienic, clean, and germ-free.

2. Washing liquid and stain remover

Washing dishes or washing clothes generally use detergents that require a monthly budget. However, with eco enzyme , you can be more efficient in using detergent products. Because eco enzyme can remove various stains, odors, and maintain the color of clothes. Can be used to clean floors, remove bathroom odors and mildew, and repel insects or mice in the house.

3. Helps break down bacteria in septic

The process of decomposition of dirt in the septic hole is getting faster with eco enzyme liquid. So, don't bother with vacuuming and prevent blockage of the sewer in the toilet hole.

Benefits of Eco Enzyme for Agriculture Sector

The benefits of eco enzymes for the agricultural sector are as follows:

1. Natural fertilizer

Growing plants without using chemical fertilizers can protect the environment and keep our bodies healthy. Eco enzymes are very useful for sustainable farming. Because, it can remove pesticides and insecticide residues on fruits and vegetables. Simply soak a solution of water and 2 teaspoons of eco enzyme for 45 minutes before consumption.

In addition, eco enzymes are a natural fertilizer or soil fertilizer. Can make barren land more fertile.

2. Midges

Eco enzyme can repel pests without using chemical pesticides. Spray a mixture of eco enzyme on plants to reduce insects or pests, without damaging the quality of the crop.

3. Plants grow faster

Eco enzymes can increase photosynthesis. As a result, the plant will get more nutrients and the roots can absorb more air for the plant to grow better and faster.

Benefits of Eco Enzyme for the Health Sector

The benefits of eco enzymes for the agricultural sector are as follows:

1. Cure skin pain

Eco enzyme can improve various chronic or chronic skin conditions or diseases. Among others: can heal scabs, burns, inflammation, insect bites and other symptoms. In fact, it can accelerate wound healing in diabetics.

2. Overcoming toothache and canker sores

Can be used as a mouthwash and toothache as well as freshen the mouth and prevent bleeding gums, and canker sores.

3. Nourish hair

As a health product, eco enzyme also help prevent hair loss and dandruff. Eco enzyme can inhibit the growth of fungus that causes dandruff, so hair looks softer, cleaner, and shiny.

4. Moisturizing skin, anti-allergy and itching

Anti-allergic, eco enzyme can overcome itching due to insect bites or skin infections from fungi. Locks skin moisture so it doesn't get scaly, dry, and prevents skin thickening.

5. Hand sanitizer

Having disinfectant properties, eco enzyme can be mixed with a little water as a hand sanitizer or hand sanitizer .

6. Air purifier

Put a little eco enzyme on the air purifier so that the air in the room is cleaner, germ-free, and prevents unpleasant odors.

How To Make Eco Enzyme?

Here are some steps to make eco enzyme you can follow:

Materials and equipment

  • Vegetable and fruit slices (raw)
  • Brown sugar
  • Water
  • Airtight container

How to make:

  1. Put 100 grams of water, 10 grams of brown sugar, and 30 grams of the rest of the fruit/vegetables into the container.
  2. Slice or chop fruit or vegetables into small pieces.
  3. Combine all ingredients in a plastic container and mix. Plastic material is preferred to avoid the container exploding when gas builds up.
  4. Close the container until it is airtight.
  5. Leave for 3 months in a closed place.
  6. During the early stages of fermentation, open the container about once a week to release trapped gasses.
  7. After 3 months, the successful eco enzyme will be dark brown in color with the smell of vinegar. If the liquid is black, add more sugar to continue the fermentation process. Just ignore if there are worms and insects because they will break down through the process.
  8. Strain the liquid from the rest of the organic waste and store it in any container to use again another day.
  9. The rest of the organic waste residue can be used as fertilizer.

What Type Of Waste Can Be Used To Make Eco Enzyme ?

Make sure you only use raw pieces of fruit and vegetables to get the benefits of eco -friendly enzymes. This is because the fermentation process of plant protein and meat protein will be very different. Meat can decompose quickly and release pathogens at irregular temperatures. Meanwhile, if you want to get the benefits of eco enzyme, you have to really use the basic ingredients of organic or plant waste.

So, try as much as possible, make sure to first sort out the rest of the fruit and vegetables from other non-organic types of waste. Good luck and enjoy the benefits of eco enzymes that are multi-purpose but still economical!
